I did make some progress today, but I chickened out when it started raining!
In the bed closest to the front door, I planted the convolvulus, the Californian poppy and the mini agapanthus. I also put earlicheer jonquils, dutch iris, black pearl lillies and muscari bulbs in.
I'm not actually sure what black pearl lillies look like, but since the collection I bought was blue and white I am assuming they are white.
Then I added sugarcane mulch after watered everything in.
There was a little bit of an issue with the mini agapanthus.
I was given the pot of plants a while back, and was waiting for the garden bed to be prepared before I planted them in.
Meanwhile, they kept growing and filling the pot, and as you can see they bacame extremely pot-bound.
After I cut up and peeled the pot from the solid roots, the idea is to gently tease the plants apart. However I couldn't even shake loose any of the plants, let alone tease them apart.
So I had to be brutal. I used a spade to divide the rootball. I was hoping to get lots of little plants but I had to be satisfied with the small bundles I could gather. I'm assuming the outer plants will have been damaged, but I'm hoping the inner plants will be happy with their new home.
