I had imagined that after the show, I would be able to get back into the garden.
However, a very windy and wet week has ganged up with toncilitis to prevent me doing anything much where the garden is concerned.
I did go with Mum and Dad to Lambley Nursery on Saturday, though. We were lucky with the weather and it didn't rain on us while we were there.
Thanks Dad for driving, and thanks Mum for lunch!
Lambley Nursery is a very pretty formal nursery with areas showing off different features: dry garden, vegetable garden, cut flower garden and herbaceous borders. More about this in another entry.
I did however, come away with more seeds and a pretty thyme that is more ornamental than culinary. I plan to plant this in the front garden as a ground cover.
So to keep my green thumb in practice I have made my own seedling pots out of newspaper.
I used to buy the recycled paper pots, but then realised there had to be a way to use origami to fold them! So I searched online!
The idea is to start the seeds in these pots, then to prevent transplant shock the whole pot goes in the ground. The roots are not disturbed and the paper will break down over time.
Now I just have to get the seeds planted....
