I think I have done just over a third of the work I need to do.
These will show one thing that I found beautiful or inspiring each day, exploring architecture and interiors, as well as animals that made me happy.
Often they are small close up views of the mosaics, fabrics or stained glass which are beautiful.
The show will also include most of the work that was shown at the open studio night while I was in residency at Can Serrat.
I also plan to finish the linocut prints that I started while I was over there, and consider starting one or two more. That does depend on time, however.
It is interesting that these photo collages draws the viewer into a scene and challenges them to look at all the details. It is also intriguing how the space is altered, but still makes sense to the brain.
Somehow the imperfections create beautiful artworks.
I have used different types of film to take these photos, and these films have different colour casts which add to the atmospheric effects in the photos.
If I have time, I plan to include some collages made from small pieces of effemera that I have collected while I was travelling - tickets, cards, clothing tags etc.
As I have noted in a previous post, my circumstances have been less than conducive for creating. While I am willing to create, life seems to get in the way.
However, things seem to be settling down and the creative mood is about to strike... I can feel it! And a deadline helps!
I hope to see you all at the show.
Opening night is Wednesday 25th June 2014, from 6-8 pm,
